Use this to dress up any dessert. It works wonderfully with pound cake (store bought) or over ice cream. 

**Substitutions provided at the end of the recipe


  • 2 cups strawberries, fresh – hulled and sliced
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar **
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice **
  • 1 tsp lemon zest **
  • 1 Tbsp coconut flavoured rum **



In a bowl mix all the ingredients well and refrigerate till ready to use.



- White sugar can replace the brown

- Orange zest and juice are a wonderful alternative. If you use oranges, make sure to use a orange flavoured liqueur to enhance the fruit.

- The liquor is optional.
